I am a Ph.D. candidate, co-advised by Dr. Jeff Shield and Dr. Qilin Guo in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. My research focuses on the development and processing of rare-earth magnetic materials, specifically NdFeB-based alloys for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). These superstrong magnets are essential in technologies such as electric vehicle motors and offshore wind turbines. I work on optimizing powder compositions and processing parameters, and I characterize printed prototypes to study their microstructure and magnetic properties. My research aims to develop feedstock materials tailored for LPBF, using melt spinning as a proxy.
