My research focuses on the intersection of additive manufacturing, materials science, and advanced in-situ characterization. I use in-situ monitoring to study the fundamental physics of additive manufacturing processes, including the formation and evolution of defects (such as spatter, porosity, and cracks), heat and mass transfer, and phase transformations. I am passionate about developing new manufacturing technologies and designing new materials for a wider range of applications, particularly in aerospace, extreme conditions, automotive, energy, and surgery.
